RATE IT! Hipster Puppies
While I don't have time for their hipster owners, I DO have plenty of time for the four-legged hipster variety. 'Hipster Puppies' by Christopher R. Weingarten is so dog-gone cute, you can easily forgive these cool canines for their overt trendy tendencies. Bicycles, bandanas and retro glasses are all in fashion with this dog gang. I must admit, I do love the cat's eye look as worn by the black and white fuzzball.

RATE IT! Pop Culture Pups
Who doesn't like a four-legged scene stealer on the big (or little) screen? Hollywood has always been partial to talented canines, and who am I to disagree!
And as for my Zoey, she'll always be a star in my eyes!

RATE IT! House Kitty

I couldn't be more of a dog person, but even I, owner of Zoey, can appreciate this cat print entitled 'House Kitty.'
Adorable! Just don't tell my dog. She'd be outraged.

RATE IT! Corgi vs. iPad
I've been working on an article about Corgis for a client, and in my travels came across this adorable video.
It's true! Good things DO come in small packages -- and I'm not talking about the iPad!
I'm sure that I am not the only one hoping that the Queen's Corgis make an appearance next week during all the royal wedding hoopla. They're part of the family, after all!
For more Corgi capers, check out this other clip here.

RATE IT! Sausage Dog Leash
I love this product for its hilarity factor... sausage links, as a dog leash? Why not!
Now, I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be caught dead walking down the street with Zoey attached to this contraption - but I would LOVE to see someone else.. someone much braver than I, strutting around the city with pup in tow.
Available now from Fred Flare. Buy it if you dare!

RATE IT! Happy Birthday, Zoey
Yes, I'm doing what all proud mamas do!
Celebrating the birthday of my baby... my Schipperke, Zoey turns two today!
Cue a day full of squeaky dog toys, long walks (hopefully, if the weather holds out), and tummy rubs - that is, if we can tear her away from that rat!

RATE IT! Zoey of the Week
I'm experiencing some major March blahs (Ack! And we're ONLY two days in!), so I'm turning to my tried & true pick-me-up: Zoey!
I should take lessons from my Schip - she's patiently waiting for Spring to arrive - while I am mired deep in cabin fever. I can't wait for the snow to retreat! Zoey relishes all the seasons. Snow is just another fun daily diversion. Why wish it away when you can dig, burrow and eat it?

RATE IT! Bad Dog
Being perfect is overrated, right? Well, for our pets, it's definitely true! Sure, a good dog makes for a peaceful home, but a little unruly canine behaviour is always welcome - when you have a Schipperke, that's the norm!If your dog is a free spirit, you'll love the Bad Dog series of coasters. Why fetch when you can lie sneakily in the grass? Exactly!
And why stop with the coasters? There are glasses (my sister has them - they're so fun!), plates and more!
Available from Uncommon Goods.

RATE IT! The REAL Hamster Dance
Feeling the dreary January blahs? I think we're in need of a cute pick-me-up.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the REAL hamster dance. This pet's got talent!

HATE IT! Dancing Pet Speaker

Remember those plastic dancing flowers from the '90s that would sway to the beat of your radio? Looks like someone thought that idea was the cat's meow and has taken it to a whole new (creepy!) level.
Channel your iTunes playlists through this cat toy. Not only will he amplify your music, but he'll do a little jig too (and most likely give you nightmares for months...). Not a cat lady? There's a dog option too.
Kinda has a possession-meets-taxidermy feel to it so I think that I'll pass.

HATE IT! Andy Warhol Christmas
First off, there's the subject matter -- DOGS! Love 'em... all types, even fat, blobby ones as featured on these holiday greeting cards. And I'm all for works of famous artists being reintroduced to the masses via new platforms... but I just have a hunch that this artwork is kinda half assed.
I know kids that could have created something similar - and probably, BETTER!
And yellow of all colours screams anything but snowmen, Santa Claus & candy canes.
Yeah, these cards are kinda nice, and certainly unique, but I'm dolling out a C+ for this effort and nothing more. I'll skip Andy's cards for something that feels a bit more heartfelt and emotionally stirring.

RATE IT! Festive Balloon Pup
Sure, Christmas is still over a month away but with November having landed on our doorstep, it's no longer too early to start thinking of the holidays, right? Right!Urban Outfitters presents a little something special for your tree this season - a balloon dog ornament.
Available in three colours and styles, this canine adds some atypical festive flair to the most traditional of holidays!

HATE IT! Port-a-Pug
Well, for us dog lovers... here's our canine equivalent. Port-a-Pug.
Anyone who would find this oh-so-hilarious should never own a pet in the first place.
File under "just plain dumb" - or better yet, chuck it in the circular file where this waste of money belongs.

RATE IT! Photobooth Dogs

I'm in love with this new book, 'Photobooth Dogs' by Cameron Woo.
Over 100 pages of doggies in old school photo strip glory - none of that fake Mac photo booth junk.
It's inspired me to find a local booth in order to capture Zoey in such a unique and cool way.

RATE IT! No Pets Allowed
As the proud owner of Zoey, I despise the 'no pets allowed' thing. Reminds me of the Peanuts animated movie, 'Snoopy Come Home' where the deep bass voice would shill 'No Dogs Allowed' whenever Snoopy wanted to do something important. Killjoy!
Alas, this "No Pets Allowed" is a completely different beast. A new animated film from Josep Pozo is in the works ~ here's a little video taster of the delights yet to come!
Unfortunately, the gorgeous Schipperke featured at left does not star - maybe next time!
