RATE IT! United for Derby

Derby day in Manchester -- and the good guys -- *my guys* -- WON!

Love my team, love Sir Alex Ferguson's celebration (and G-Nev's too!), and love new recruit, Michael Owen - a true Red Devil if there ever was one! Scoring the winner at just the right time with seconds remaining. Super subbing at its finest.

Tevez, on the other hand, money doesn't buy you happiness or success. Red was more your colour than blue but hey.... you had your chance.

RATE IT! Gary Neville - Liverpool Role Model?

The most hilarious sports-political news came out of the UK today. This little gem of ridiculousness has made my week!

A very misinformed Conservative MP suggested that Manchester United's captain, Gary Neville, should be regarded as "a good role model" to the disenfranchised youth of Liverpool.

Tory MP Chris Grayling, spoke of kids growing up without any parental guidance, how youth could benefit from idolizing someone as dedicated & diligent as Neville.

Sure, Gary would be a terrific role model. He didn't come from a privileged background yet found his way to the biggest footie club on the planet through sheer hard work & determination. He never gives up, has been with the same team since his career began as a teen... BUT.... and here's the kicker, Gary Neville *despises* Liverpool's football club and everything Mersey-based!

Gary Neville detests Scousers of all descriptions and his dislike is widely known. Liverpool press have reported that silly Mr. Grayling is a Manchester United supporter -- which is a crock, seriously. Any United supporter worth their blood KNOWS that Liverpool hates Gary Neville and vice versa! Mr. Grayling was hoping to sway Merseyside voters over to his corner but his misfired comments will have sent Pool folk in the other direction! (photo: Getty)

Thanks to Fourth for the tip!

Sad Anniversary

February 6 is the 51st anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster -- a tragic plane crash that killed 23 passengers including half of the 1958 Manchester United team. Always remember, never forget.

RATE IT! United Christmas

It's Christmas Eve and the spirit of the holiday got me carried away with the 'Elf-Yourself' funzone courtesy of Jib Jab. I've made about 15 of these videos and am getting more silly as I go along! Here's one that I personally can't get enough of -- I've put various Manchester United footie players plus their manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, in a ho-down chock full of Chrimbo hilarity. Wayne Rooney, doing a square dance? Who knew?

RATE IT! United in Champions League Action

Champions League footie action continues this afternoon with Manchester United taking on Aalborg in Denmark.

United are missing Owen Hargreaves and Gary Neville but with such a strong squad, they'll be more than fine.

(Don't call this afternoon -- you'll only go to voicemail!).

RATE IT! My United Boys

Owen Hargreaves and team captain, Gary Neville, watching the squad play Juventus in a pre-season friendly.

No real reason to post -- do I need a reason for a gawk? Didn't think so.

RATE IT! Gary Neville Stunner

Hurrah!! Our captain is back! It's hardly a surprise that Manchester United's Gary Neville has been proving his worth during Manchester United's pre-season swing through South Africa.

The team has been playing several friendlies versus various South African sides in the run-up to the English Premiership season that begins again on August 16.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been telling all that Gary looks to be on top form despite missing almost a season and a half due to injury. And at age 33 (a senior in soccer circles), our Skipper is playing like a youngster. Just the way we like 'em!

As every United fan knows, G-Nev bleeds United red and he's not one to discounted easily. All hail our fearless leader!

RATE IT! Off to the Races United-Style

Ah, don't the Manchester United boys scrub up nicely off the pitch!

Check out Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville, Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes at Chester Racetrack back in May 2007.

Gary's smiling! Reason enough to post this photo! Just joking, Gaz...

CLASSIC RATE IT! Gary Neville Gets 'Punked'

Prior to the 2006 World Cup, Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand fancied himself as his sport's version of Ashton Kutcher, merking or 'punking' his fellow England team-mates.

I adore Gary Neville for all his brooding, up-tightedness...and there's no truer Red Devil alive so I just *had* to add Rio's joke on Gazza. With a tight-lipped Ryan Giggs by his side, Gary loses it in the presence of a Scouser cop. As everyone knows, G-Nev despises everything about Liverpool so will a Police Officer from Merseyside get any respect from the United skipper?

HATE IT/RATE IT! Nike ID Customized Trainers

It pains me to be split down the middle over my latest obsession. It’s been said that there’s a fine line between love and hate, and that’s exactly what I’m playing at with these cool kicks from Nike. For the last year or two, Nike have offered up a customized trainer service called ‘Nike ID.’ If you’re less than enthused over the b-ball, super-pumped up sneaks that populate most Nike outlets, now you have your chance to create something uniquely you. Visit in person or log onto one of their websites and channel your inner Marc Jacobs and get designing. My inspiration - a pair of trainers that were featured in a Nike ID ad with Manchester United defensive-genius, Rio Ferdinand.

The photo displayed shoes with the United logo, Rio’s name and number, plus the colours were all specially chosen to be hues of the United football club. I was in love at first sight – they were so cool that I just had to have them. I mocked up my take on Rio’s shoes – using Gary Neville’s name and number for inspiration (Hargreaves’ name is far too long and wouldn’t fit – darn!). I was in such glee with my new shoes all designed. I couldn’t wait to get them in the mail and put my best foot forward while proclaiming my devotion to my team with my unique footwear. But it was not to be.

With one swift kick, I was quickly shaken from my reveree to discover that Nike ID orders can’t be fulfilled for Canada. Yep, that’s right!! And what was even worse…the staff at the Nike Megastore in my city didn’t even have a clue! I had casually mentioned to them on a recent visit that I was concocting a special sneaker on the Nike UK website – I didn’t receive one iota of caution or any utterance to tell me to stop and step away from the designing process. So now I have my fabulous creation held hostage in my email, not ever getting to see the warm light of day, let alone my size 8s. I hate you, Nike…I really do!
